Associated Motorways Ltd. (AMW), sole agents in Sri Lanka for the Yamaha brand, launched the Yamaha Ray ZR, ‘The Uncommon Ride’, at Hilton Colombo Residencies on 26 July, in the presence of Group Managing Director of AMW Samantha Rajapaksa; Director Passenger Vehicle Yohann De Zoysa; General Manager of Yamaha Shehann de Zoysa; Manager Sales and Operations of Yamaha Zahran Ziyawudeen; and Ohno Izumi and Yamauchi Minoru representing Yamaha Japan.
The Ray ZR, with a distinctively stylish, rugged and muscular design, makes riders stand out when zipping past in their scooter, with fuel efficiency of 66 kmpl churned out by the evolutionary Bluecore technology and a fuel tank with a 5.2-litre capacity which is adequate to cover just about any distance on a busy day.
The Yamaha Ray ZR comes in auto-gear, which is ideal for those who have just taken up riding scooters, adding to the ease of riding and safety. For the technologically inclined, the Ray ZR comes with an air-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC 2-valve engine, with a displacement of 113 CC, tubeless tyres and having 21 litres of storage capacity to safely carry around personal effects.
Along with the Yamaha Ray ZR scooter, customers will receive a complimentary helmet, free insurance cover, free registration, a five-year warranty and a free jacket when they lease through AMW Capital Leasing, LB Finance, Arpico Finance, Commercial Credit or Alliance Finance. Terms and conditions apply.
Yamaha General Manager De Zoysa stated: “Yamaha is committed to bringing the best of the world to the Sri Lankan market. Yamaha Ray ZR will be the beginning of a new design in the scooter market.”
Best of all, the Yamaha Ray ZR exemplifies Yamaha’s ‘spirit of challenge’ which has fuelled the brand’s continuing drive for excellence and pioneering sport heritage that has seen the brand take on leadership in global racing as well as performance motoring.
Having the backing of Associated Motorways Ltd. (AMW) is also a great relief to owners of the Yamaha Ray ZR, as AMW has been associated with the Yamaha brand for several years, with their island-wide dealer and distribution networks as well as the availability of ample spares for all makes of Yamaha.
Founded in 1949, AMW has grown to become the preeminent group in the industry. Now an Al Futtaim Group company, AMW offers world-class brands including Yamaha, Nissan, Suzuki and Piaggio as well as associated products like Goodyear tyres and Castrol lubricants, and New Holland tractors. Adding to the popularity of AMW are the superior island-wide after-sales service and spare parts availability as well as financial solutions through AMW Capital Leasing.
