From inspiring presentations and glittering entertainment, to unprecedented networking opportunities – The David Pieris Motor Company Ltd. (DPMC) Annual Bajaj Parts and Accessories Dealer Convention and get-together once again enthused and empowered over 400 dealers from across the country.
Themed around ‘Genuine’ the hallmark of Bajaj spare parts dealers and uniting as 1 to be No1 in the industry, the event saw many unique features such as all attendees lighting the virtual lamp to start the event, playing various drums to create a single beat and melody under the expertise guidance of Jananath Warakagoda the highly acclaimed drummer and musician.
Setting the direction for the convention Director and COO Rohana Dissanayake delivered an informative speech on current business trends and exposed the current issues and challenges dealers are (and will be) facing as the auto industry landscape continues to change. Using his concise thinking, Dissanayake expertly articulated the cornerstones of a successful dealership.
It was also an evening dedicated to recognising and celebrating the success of the Bajaj dealers. Platinum winners were awarded an all paid Australian tour while Gold winners were rewarded with a European tour. Under the Silver category distributors and key dealers were rewarded with a China tour while a Malaysian tour was awarded under the Bronze category. In total 150 dealers were rewarded for their performance and commitment to the company and Bajaj genuine spare parts. In addition to 10 long standing dealers were also rewarded.
Representing Bajaj at the event, Senior Manager (International Business) Rajendra B. Kothawade expressed the thanks of Bajaj and pledged their commitment and support to the local dealers to ensure their long term success and growth.
Along with the fun, there was plenty of time for serious discussions between delegates, DPMC executives and other representatives. The occasion was attended by Director and Chief Operating Officer Rohana Dissanayake, Director (Parts and Accessories) Thusitha Molligoda,
Director (Group Human Resources and Communications) Romany Parakrama, Chief Marketing Officer Shanaka Jayaweera and other officers of the company. The participants were welcomed by Deputy General Manager (Parts and Accessories) Manjula de Alwis.
