By Shannine Daniel, Sri Lanka’s first and largest e-commerce marketplace,recently announced that all Visa debit and credit card-holders will be entitled to a minimum 10% discount on all products purchased from its website. 

This promotion is to last till October 2016, following the partnership between the website and top global payments tech company Visa.

“By partnering with Visa we are now able to offer our customers added security for their online transactions. The lack of trust and confidence in the process of shopping online is one of the greatest deterrents that prevent customers from shopping online,” Co-founder and CEO Abishek Sithampalam said.

“We feel that this partnership will provide potential customers with the reassurance that online shopping is safe, convenient and increasingly more affordable,” he asserted. 

 “We are extremely proud to see that has cemented its position as the leading online market place in the country. Today we have over 100,000 users visiting this site and an average of 5000 transactions are made each month,” Sithampalam added.

Through this promotion customers will be able to enjoy savings on a variety of items featured in the website.

The online shopping platform provides to 150 cities and contains 1500 national, international and regional brands with approximately 10,000 listed items, in just under 30 assorted categories. Said categories include appliances, kitchenware, electronic devices, watches, tools, furniture, women’s’ wear, men’s wear, children’s wear, toys, sports and gym equipment. 

“We hope that this offer will encourage customers to shop on and will give them the confidence to embrace the multiple benefits of e-commerce,” Sithampalam added. 

Visa partnered with findmyfare.comlast year, acknowledged Co-founder and Director Thushan Shanmugarajah.
