A clear winner at this year’s Campaign Asia AOTY Awards in Mumbai was the TAL Group, going home as the most awarded Sri Lankan Agency Group of the night. PHD Sri Lanka was named the top Media and Digital agency of the country, with two Silvers in the Rest of South Asia category, while TBWA\Sri Lanka won big as well, clinching Silver in the Creative Agency of the Year along with a finalist for Creative of the Year (South Asia).
“We’re definitely very proud of the work our teams have put in,” said Keith Wijesuriya, Jt Managing Director of the TAL Group and CEO of PHD Sri Lanka.
“To win, not just in the traditional areas of Media and Creative, but in the emerging Digital arena as well is awesome. And this being PHD Sri Lanka’s first foray into the Campaign Awards show, we are thrilled that our young digital outfit especially has won big.”
It turned out to be a triple treat on all fronts, since the TAL Group works to provide their clients with through-the-linecommunication solutions. TBWA\Sri Lanka tackles all creative ideas with ‘Disruption’, a strategic tool (and as they would argue, a way of life) based on the simple belief that operating in a set of conventions will not give you a different result. PHD Sri Lanka’s slogan is ‘Finding A Better Way’ – meant to promote a never ending desire to re-evaluate and grow.
“Despite being two different slogans, both ‘Disruption’ and ‘Finding A Better Way’ work perfectly alongside each other, because they represent the same thing – a desire to break free from the ordinary to do better,” said Renuka Marshall, Jt Managing Director of the TAL Group and CEO of TBWA\Sri Lanka. Renuka added, “These wins prove that Sri Lanka is capable of achieving remarkable things, even in the international arena. That winning streak is something we aim to continue in 2016.”
