The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) plays host to the Asian Marketing Federation (AMF) Board of Management meeting which will be held in Colombo on 2 March 2012.
The AMF has accepted the invitation extended by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing to conduct its Board of Management meeting in Sri Lanka. A distinguished panel of professionals and business leaders are expected to participate and conduct professional sessions at this conference.
The International Marketing Congress will be held on 1 March at the Galadari Hotel. Open to the public, it will feature eminent international personalities, both academic and corporate, who will share their international experience and knowledge with Sri Lankan professionals.
“The international marketing conference will definitely assist to further strengthening the role of marketing within organisations and preparing them to explore opportunities and prepare themselves to face global challenges,” said Leroy J. Ebert, Project Chairman for the SLIM International Marketing Conference.
The Board of Management meeting will be held on Friday 2 March and continue through the day with AMF representatives and the President of SLIM. The objective of the Board of Management meeting is to review last year’s performance and set goals for 2012 for all member countries.
SLIM President Thushara Perera said: “I believe that the AMF Board of Management meeting is a follow-on to the legendary Prof Kotler’s visit and will thus set the stage for Sri Lanka to project itself as a host venue for events of this nature. I am confident that this will bring a greater awareness about contemporary Sri Lanka and its economic benefits among the several participating country representatives.”
The Asia Marketing Federation (AMF) countries consist of 11 member nations. Recognising the shifting of global power from the Western bloc to Asia, the American Marketing Association recently signed a MOU with the AMF, thereby strengthening the presence of AMF in the region and gradually making it one of the strongest marketing bodies in the world.
