This year’s SLIM BE attracted a phenomenal 125 entries of companies and brands, which is an unprecedented 40 per cent increase over the 75 entries received last year.
SLIM BE 2011 Project Chairman E. Karthik, who is also the AGM Marketing, CDB, expressed his satisfaction over this outcome: “It confirms that not just the marketing fraternity but also the entire senior corporate management are becoming aware of the effectiveness of the awards, and its pivotal role in promoting professionalism in the industry.”
“This is another step closer to our aim of getting Brand Excellence accepted by marketers across sectors, categories and markets whilst attracting multinational players to SMEs to local brands across the board. It also confirms the effectiveness of our campaign, ‘Will you be just a footnote or will there be tales about you?’ which vividly brought the BE concept to life through well-known fairy tales,” he added.
Another success factor of Brand Excellence 2011 is the fact that it attracted many new companies and brands across various sectors.

It proves the power of Brand Excellence and is proof of the success of our approach. As the head of the eminent panel of judges, I am proud to be part of the success of SLIM BE this year and reassure all applicants that my team and I commit ourselves to practicing the highest level of professionalism in evaluating the entries.”
Initial screening of the entries has taken place and the first round of judging has begun. Short listed companies for the final round will be informed in advance, to prepare for the presentations. The initial round of judging has begun.”
The grand finale, which is the glittering awards ceremony, will be held on 18 October 2011 at Waters Edge. “SLIM BE has always been a record breaker, but this time we have surpassed expectations. I am confident that this year’s awards night will break many more records,’ concluded Karthik.
