OgilvyAction’s ‘Washing School’ campaign for Unilever’s Surf Excel brand, leader in the detergent market in Sri Lanka, succeeded in increasing the brand’s market share and internal sales volumes in the process of garnering attention to best practices in laundry management.

Using a variety of marketing methods from TV to guerrilla campaigns, ‘Washing School’ creatively captured the public eye whilst achieving the core target of boosting brand growth.

Meanwhile aimed at increasing awareness regarding personal hygiene and healthier living, the campaign ‘Global Hand Washing Day – 2011’ engineered for Unilever’s Lifebuoy brand, utilised a myriad of communication platforms.

The campaign reached over one million school children and over half a million parents, educating them on the crucial importance of everyday practices like washing hands before meals. The initiative also contributed to an overall increase in market value and market share.

“We are ecstatic about this win, and we look forward to winning many more awards in the future. Each and every member of OgilvyAction made these wins possible and I am very proud head an agency with so much of passion and commitment,” said Vino De Silva, General Manager OgilvyAction, celebrating on the eve of their latest win. OgilvyAction recently appointed Shirani Saunders as Client Service Director and N. Soruban as Executive Creative Director, and together with Vino are set to take the agency to greater heights.

Over the past 13 years, Ogilvy Action has been the industry’s premier activation agency in Sri Lanka and has been recognized for their innovative activations.  The latest awards at the Effies will take their place in the agency’s trophy cabinet alongside the Effies they have won for LOLC’s ‘Diyunu Waram,’ MAS’ ‘Mihikathaka Daruwo,’ Dialog Broadband’s ‘Gederata Wasanawan’ and Astra ‘Dinana Wadenna’.

Adhering to the global OgilvyAction’s slogan of ‘great work that works,’ OgilvyAction continues be a commanding voice and a driving force in the communications industry, giving life to cutting-edge campaigns every year.
