NMK Group of Companies clinched a Bronze accolade for its ‘Marina’ brand name under the ‘Business to Business’ category, at the prestigious SLIM Brand Excellence 2015 awards organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) in Colombo recently. Bagging this award was a continuation of the winning streak for NMK Group of Companies, which was honoured at the SLIM Brand Excellence 2013 event as well for its ‘Marina’ coconut oil, a brand enormously popular amongst households as well as Sri Lanka’s food and hospitality sector.
Commenting on the latest achievement, NMK Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director Manjula Narayana said: “The chances of multinational companies providing Sri Lankan consumers with good quality, safe, hygienic and natural coconut oil free of any impurities and toxicity are slim. It was with the objective of filling this void and give local consumers a hygienically manufactured product using state-of-the-art technology in compliance with internationally accepted quality standards that ‘Marina’ was launched in 2009.”

The quality and wide acceptability of ‘Marina’ is further proven by the award the product won at the SLIM Brand Excellence 2015. Our primary objective is to offer top quality products to customers at affordable prices.”
NMK Group of Companies Head of Sales and Brands Denzil Perera said: “The honour conferred on ‘Marina’, a 100% Sri Lankan product, should go to our customers who placed explicit trust and confidence on the brand. On this happy occasion, I take the opportunity of expressing my deep gratitude to housewives, chefs, bakery owners and our diverse customers. I also thank Hema Tennakoon, National Sales Manager, Kanchana Leelasena, who heads ‘Business to Business’ operations, provincial sales managers and the ‘Marina” sales brigade for their exemplary performance, profound commitment and dedication which earned honour and plaudits for the brand.”
