Five Unilever brands handled by Lowe LDB were voted favourites of the people, by the people across six categories at the SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards 2011.
Topping the list was Sunlight, which carried off triple awards – for FMCG Brand of the Year, Youth FMCG Brand of the Year and Most Popular Brand of the North and East. In addition, Sunlight was nominated Brand of the Year and Household Care Brand of the Year.
When Sri Lankans across the country were asked “what’s your favourite personal care brand?” their answer was “Lifebuoy”. Lowe LDB’s Lifebuoy ‘Budget Kate’ ad was nominated Advertisement of the Year, the Agency’s Lifebuoy Germfighter TV commercial having won the favourite TVC of the Year at last year’s awards.
USL brands handled by Lowe LDB also won nominations in these same winning categories, with Fair & Lovely nominated as FMCG Brand of the Year, Lifebuoy and Signal nominees for the Youth FMCG Brand of the Year and Signal nominated for FMCG Brand of the Year. Vim was a nominee in the Household Care category.
Lowe LDB CEO Lilamani Dias Benson said: “We are pleased and proud that so many of the Unilever brands handled by us were winners, once again. These are just one more set of awards that confirm the effectiveness of a long standing partnership that has created winners all along the way.”
“These winning Unilever brands have been market leaders for many years and Lowe LDB is proud to partner USL in their success. We are confident that our many USL brand wins at all awards ceremonies in which we participated, have paved the way for many more awards to follow,” COO Chalaka Gajabahu added.
