Leo Burnett Solutions Inc.(LBSI) the local office of the global advertising network Leo Burnett Worldwide, celebrated 12 years on the 1st of June.
From its humble beginnings at a make-shift office, the agency has grown into one of the most acclaimed and awarded ad agencies in the country.
The entire agency team gathered on this auspicious day to commemorate the company’s anniversary and to celebrate the journey. A cross section of team members representing the diversity of the company participated in the lighting of the oil lamp heralding an auspicious start to another successful year, which was followed by a traditional milk rice breakfast.
Addressing the gathering on behalf of Managing Director Ranil de Silva, Chief Operating Officer Chrishani Kotalawela highlighted the progress the agency has achieved and thanked the team for their commitment, passion and hard work which enabled this success for the company but pointed out that many were the challenges ahead of us. Six Burnetters who had contributed to the company’s growth and success were also awarded promotions.
Speaking of the promotions, Ms Kotalawela said the key to the success of the company has always been the hard work and positive attitude of all the Burnetters in the team and said that the 6 Burnetters promoted on this occasion were. “Positive in their attitude, have the correct outlook and love the company. They are willing to rise above their call of duty for Leo Burnett. These are the true colours of a Burnetter.”
The past year was a landmark year for the agency as the local office scored its first ‘8’ at the Global Product Committee (GPC) Scale based on the HumanKind philisophy. The GPC Scale is a Leo Burnett tool which rates the creativity of the network’s work in a bid to raise the creative bar for all the work done by the company. The global GPC evaluation is held every quarter where all 93 Leo Burnett offices worldwide participate by sending their individual ‘best work’ to be rated by the network’s creative greats. In this scale of 1 – 10 the yardstick every Burnetter strives for is a 7+. The phenomenal 8 that LBSI scored is classified as an idea that ‘Changes the way people feel’.
