As per the global results that were released on 22 February, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region has once again proved its stance in continuous success by the achievement of a 56.3% overall pass rate at the CIM examinations held in December 2011. The Sri Lanka Region achieved higher pass rates particularly in subjects such as Marketing Information and Research, and Stakeholder Marketing.
CIM Sri Lanka Region Head of Education Anuradha Edirisinghe commenting on this stated, “We are indeed very proud of this outstanding achievement and are pleased to note that the number of students who succeed at every stage have increased rapidly. Maintaining an excellent pass rate over the years has proved that the students finish their studies with a comprehensive understanding of the subjects. It is also a testament to the high standard of our accredited study centres and tutors, who have immensely contributed towards maintaining high pass rates and guiding Sri Lankan students to become professional marketers.”
CIM Sri Lanka Region Chairperson Chitrangani Herat Gunaratne, also commenting on the results said, “These results showcase the standard of our students competing in an international arena, where language could have been the main barrier in achieving extraordinary results. In 2010, Sri Lanka produced five CIM world prize winners; a feat that placed our country right on top amongst the rest of the world. And in 2011, Dushan Kahandagamage brought immense honour by receiving the CIM Top Student Worldwide Award for the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing for year 2011. Our students have continually proved to the rest of the world, what Sri Lankans are capable of, by being second only to those in the United Kingdom.”
CIM Sri Lanka Region is dedicated to assist students to become future business leaders and join the ranks of its high profile members by providing information pertaining to their studies, job opportunities and conducting seminars, workshops and conferences.
