Sumudu Thanthirigoda was recognised as ‘Young Achiever of the Year’ at the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Asia Global Brand Excellence Awards 2015 in Singapore in recognition of his contribution to the disciplines of brand building and marketing in Sri Lanka.
Sumudu is currently the General Manager – Marketing of ACL Cables PLC, the largest cable manufacturer in Sri Lanka with over 70% market share and Rs. 14.5 billion turnover as a group, and the pioneer in Sri Lanka’s cable industry since 1962.
Counting over a decade of experience in Marketing and Sales Sumudu Thanthirigoda has contributed to the growth of local and international brands both locally and globally during his career at ACL Cables, Unilever and Ceylon Tobacco (subsidiary of British American Tobacco). He holds a BSc Engineering honours degree from University of Moratuwa specialised in Electrical Engineering. He is also a Chartered Marketer and a qualified member of Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK. He holds a MBA from University of Wales – UK. Sumudu is an honorary Board member at the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) – Sri Lanka region since 2014.
