The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) launched the 18th SLIM National Sales Congress 2018, Sri Lanka’s focal award ceremony which recognises and rewards performances of the local sales force, this week.
Entries for this year’s awards are now open and sales performers from around the country are called on to send their entries before 18 May.
SLIM NASCO 2018 offers training by a team of distinguished sales and marketing professionals in the country followed by the gala event with the main objective of uplifting the standards of the sales profession. This year too, SLIM NASCO hopes to influence, motivate and reward the sales professionals of Sri Lanka and inspire them to reach their full potential while contributing to the success of the companies they work for.
“SLIM NASCO Awards have become an essential tool of recognition within the corporate sector in Sri Lanka. SLIM NASCO 2018 will ensure an experience which goes beyond mere participation in an award, to a transforming experience where a deep sense of focus and pride in the sales profession will be instilled,” stated Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, President Pradeep Edward.
The sales professionals produced by SLIM NASCO have come up to the ranks of sales executives, managers and even CEOs. When you come here and face the eminent panel of judges it gives you a different level of confidence, said Edward.
“We are very concerned about selecting our panel of judges. I can guarantee that it is not only their designation that we take into account, but also their reputations and performances which should be remarkable so that they are able to inspire others in the industry,” said NASCO Project Chairman Manthika Ranasinghe.
There are 22 industry categories under which the nominations are called for. For the first time, the awards are grouped into five areas which include Territorial Managers who are in the management grade of the company, Sales Executives and Supervisors, and Front Liners who deal directly with customers and have frontline responsibilities.
Three new areas have been added this year, namely, Sales Support Staff (Executive/Non Executive), who are professionals, not directly involved in selling to customers but support the sales function, Regional Sales Manager/Assistant Sales Manager who are responsible for sales in a specific region and National Sales Manager who overlook the entire sales function of the company.
“NASCO is no more just an event. It is a national level event. This is the most looked after event of the sales industry in Sri Lanka,” said NASCO Head of Judging Panel Stephen Paulraj.
