MP Namal Rajapaksa this week addressed a forum organised by the Centre of ASEAN Marketing in in Jakarta, Indonesia. Namal was invited to speak by the Centre of ASEAN Marketing.
He elaborated youth aspirations of Asia and emphasised on the need of political willingness to transform to create an impactful space for youth. He also used the opportunity to discuss policies for youth development laid out by the new Government in the manifesto
During his stay he met one of the global leaders of marketing, Prof. Hermawan Kartajaya, who was on the UK’s list of 50 gurus shaping the future of marketing. He shared a good exchange of thoughts on nation branding from which Sri Lanka can benefit.
Further, MP Namal was invited by Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnhtama Kusubandio and had a very productive discussion on tourism cooperation between Sri Lanka and Indonesia to incorporate local communities into the industry so that the benefits of tourism would reach the people.
