Signing of the MOU between SLIM and Horizon Campus by SLIM President Suranjith Swaris and Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Horizon Campus and the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) recently, with the aim of enabling the two organisations to work in collaboration towards the advancement of higher education and professional career opportunities for students in Sri Lanka. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Horizon Campus and SLIM Sri Lanka will also further strengthen their respective brand identities in the market.
Horizon Campus Chairman Upul Daranagama and SLIM President Suranjith signed the MoU.
Horizon Campus Faculty of Management Dean Terence Kahapola Arachchi said, “We are proud to enter into this partnership with SLIM. The arrangement is aimed at providing opportunities for students of Horizon Campus studying for the Bachelor of Management Honours in Marketing to gain the benefit of receiving exemptions for the SLIM professional qualifications, thereby fast-tracking their pathway towards attaining two top qualifications at the same time. The degree they are studying at Horizon as well as the SLIM qualification both have high recognition amongst employees. This will no doubt add tremendous value to their CVs and contribute towards securing employment in top positions at leading organisations.”He further emphasised that this also showcased the quality and high standard of the bachelor’s degrees offered at Horizon Campus, which has in turn enabled the facilitation of receiving exemptions for the SLIM qualification.
Meanwhile, the staff of SLIM will gain the opportunity to study for the post-graduate degrees offered at Horizon Campus.
“We have always campaigned for fostering high professional standards in education, training and development in the avenues of marketing and management and we believe that this MOU will pave the way in further enhancing SLIM’s commitment towards promoting knowledge empowerment,” endorsed Swaris, whilst the SLIM CEO added that this agreement will be a great opportunity to combine the expertise of both parties to create value for talent-building in the industry.
