As the key leader in the automotive battery industry in Sri Lanka, Exide by Browns has reached yet another milestone in its journey by being awarded a highly-acclaimed SLIM Digi Award under the ‘Best Use of Branded Content’ category.
The accolade was given in recognition of Exide’s popular MasterClass campaign that was promoted via the brand’s Facebook and YouTube platforms. The distinctive initiative was curated with the aim of improving the credentials and creating awareness on Exide’s superior technology.
Exide MasterClass’ uniqueness lies in its in-depth examination of local car culture, exclusive features and awareness creation on lesser-known automobile facts. In addition, the campaign’s content is designed specifically to engage all types of motor enthusiasts, from start-out beginners to old-school veterans, demonstrating its ability to capture a wide audience. Broken down into three fascinating segments; Car Speak, Shakedown and Garage Talk, Exide MasterClass is undoubtedly one of the most renowned home-grown car shows.
‘Car Speak’ specialises in simplifying automotive technicalities which make the subject not only interesting but also educational for any viewer. ‘Shakedown’ explores contemporary automobile technology from cars to SUVs, while focusing on specific topics and capturing the features in action by way of interactive on-road/off-road demonstrations. ‘Garage Talk’, uniquely positioned to expound on how car automation developed for the race circuit is integrated into the daily road car.
The recognition of the most innovative and effective use of content by Exide’s MasterClass campaign is yet another affirmation of the brand’s local success, while reflecting its strong values, strategy and innovative storytelling at the same time. Most importantly, the program addresses the gap in the market for subject matters that are not only informative and creative, but that are impactful across diverse audiences and multiple media platforms. As the leading SLS certified battery in Sri Lanka, Exide has positioned itself both locally and internationally despite industry competition.
Browns Group Automotive and Hardware Cluster Chief Operating Officer Ajith De Silva said, “Since 2021, Exide has worked diligently to strengthen its product line by adding more stock keeping units to cater to high-end car and SUV users. After extensive research on the optimal way to reach our target audience, the Exide MasterClass was born and we invested heavily in the area of digital marketing during 2021 and 2022. This was done with the aim of challenging and transcending current knowledge on the automotive battery market and associating the number one brand in the market. Winning a SLIM Digis Award is undoubtedly a great achievement and we hope this key milestone will inspire not just our team, but those who work with us externally as well.”
