Crepe Runner recently won the Silver award at SLIM Brand Excellence for the category Small Medium Enterprises 2021 organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka.
This has been a consecutive award for Crepe Runner as it won the Bronze award in the year 2020 too.
The SLIM Brand Excellence Awards is a celebration of brand excellence at national level and rewards the outstanding efforts of outstanding marketers. Each year the panel of judges evaluates the contenders for each category of award, looking for those elusive qualities which elevate a brand above the sea of nondescript products. With regards to the current conditions prevailing in Sri Lanka especially for SMEs, Crepe Runner said: “It’s like doing business in a war zone with endless casualties and damages. It’s very tough and we understand that we are in a crisis.”
Crepe Runner is one of the popular upcoming restaurant chains in Colombo. Trending and brimming with youth who are inclined towards the brand. Its humble beginnings root from a small vibrant food truck which was stationed in Bambalapitiya – Marine Drive in the year 2019.
Crepe Runner enlightened the street food truck culture which was dying at Bambalapitiya, Marine Drive in early 2019. Ever since then, the Marine Drive stretch has been blossoming with many food ventures with trucks.
It was revolutionary back then, offering a wider selection of sweet and savoury crepes designed to take people on a unique gastronomic journey. The business has evolved and the brand has skyrocketed. Crepe Runner consists of five branches and in the midst of opening many more. Crepe Runner has been an epitome of resilience ever since they started in 2019. It overcame the aftermath of the Easter Attack, COVID-19 lockdowns and the ongoing crisis.
