World’s most sought after purchasing and supply chain management speaker at this month’s CA Sri Lank

The world’s most sought after purchasing and supply chain management speaker and trainer, Omid Ghamami, who is also known as the ‘Godfather of Negotiation Planning’ will be a guest speaker at the Strategy Summit organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) on 26 and 27 July at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.DFT-10-5

Ghamami, who has built a reputation for being the ‘most trusted and most sought after’ speaker and trainer, is famous for creating paradigm shifts in the ways purchasing is done without resorting to the old, status quo that doesn’t work in the current context.

Currently, the President and Chief Consultant at Purchasing Advantage, a purchasing seminar and training solutions provider, Ghamami has taught thousands of hours in terms of courses, workshops, and seminars across at least 10 different countries since 1995, on topics related to the entire spectrum of purchasing, supply chain management, purchasing contract law, negotiations, and supplier management.

During the summit, which is Sri Lanka’s biggest-ever Strategy Summit, Ghamami will centre his presentation on ‘Harnessing Your Procurement into a Value Added Center of Profit.’ The summit which is a strictly corporate leaders only event, will bring together business leaders from Sri Lanka as well as the region, including South Asia, helping them prepare businesses for the corporate warfare ahead.

Ghamami holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics from California State University, Sacramento, as well as an MBA from the University of California, Riverside.

Ghamami has 18 years’ experience with Intel Corp, where he rose to the position of leading their entire global corporate purchasing operations organisation. His experience and strength in negotiations earned him the corporate designation of “Godfather of Negotiation Planning” for the entire $ 2.2 b global purchasing organisation.

Ghamami is also an esteemed Adjunct Professor of Purchasing in the Los Rios Community College District, where he has pioneered the development of an innovative purchasing curriculum that is the first of its kind in the California community college system and has received many accolades.

He has broad and rich experience in complex, high dollar value, and high stakes negotiations, total cost analysis, supply chain management, purchasing contract law, purchasing operations, purchasing policies and procedures, complex sourcing strategies, controls and risk management, selection and deployment of purchasing systems/tools, purchasing integration of mergers and acquisitions, international purchasing strategies, negotiating with different cultures, supplier performance management, and purchasing strategy mapping and execution.

The two day summit focuses on different core elements of business strategy which will create future businesses and how firms could execute those core strategies in competitive environments.
