Toshiko Kawanami, a veteran Japanese lecturer and entrepreneur from Japan, will conduct a one-day seminar in Colombo during August on the invitation of the JASTECA Institute of Management.
Kawanami is the Course Director of the popular 12-day leadership program for top Sri Lankan managers, conducted by the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) Japan. Over 70 top Sri Lankan corporate managers have already followed this program in Japan during the past three years thanks to the assistance that HIDA Japan has received from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Japan.
This intensive one-day leadership program, which will be conducted at the Galadari Hotel on 20 August, is designed to provide a deeper understanding of managers’ roles and responsibilities in a rapidly-changing business environment.
Participants will understand what it takes to lead when you have to initiate an organisational change, how to increase employee motivation and identify strategies to lead others through change. The program looks to motivate its participants and help them execute change more effectively in their organisations.
Kawanami, who has worked in Japan for over four decades as a lecturer and businesswoman, will talk about successful Japanese leaders and the unique Japanese business culture which has been a major influence on their success and helped Japan grow into what it is today. She will teach those in attendance about useful frameworks and tools which they can apply to lead change effectively.
The JASTECA Institute of Management (JIM), the training arm of the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA), is actively involved in conducting seminars and workshops, in-house training and consultancy services at clients’ enterprises.
