At CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit 2014
Renowned thought leader and author from Singapore, Dr. Astrid S. Tuminez is expected to share key insights on leadership at the upcoming Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Business Leaders’ Summit 2014.
Dr. Tuminez is the Regional Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs in South East Asia for Microsoft Corporation, Singapore, where she is responsible for driving government relations, corporate citizenship, business and regulatory initiatives in that region.
Based in Singapore and a proud mother of three, Dr. Tuminez was selected to be one of the Top 100 Global Influencers in 2013 by the US based Filipina Women’s Network.
She will address the topic ‘Leadership: Reframing Human Capital for Sustained Competitiveness’ at the 37th Business Leaders’ Summit.
The two day conference themed ‘Sustain Ability: Imagine. Implement’ is scheduled to take place on 27 and 28 May 2014 at Cinnamon Grand Colombo. The CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit 2014 will bring together members of the business and finance fraternity holding senior positions in organisation across diverse sectors where key developments and trends currently taking place in the global economic environment will be shared. With aspects such as embracing globalisation, good governance, and learning capabilities identified as factors that underpin the unprecedented multi-decade growth of certain Asian countries, it is evident that economies displaying these factors became more competitive, and sustained their competitiveness over a long period of time.
The address of Dr. Tuminez will explore what aspects of human capital are needed to underpin sustained business competitiveness. It is the people who must embrace globalisation, exercise good governance, practice individual and organisational learning that results in businesses sustained growth.
The presentation will tackle the ‘people’ part of the equation and will focus on a few variables that impact the quality and sustainability of human capital, which will allow leaders to understand these variables in depth and cultivate work forces who will be productive, creative and competitive in the long-run.
