The Management Club Board of Management and its key CSR entity, Enable the Disabled, will hold their 10th AGM on Tuesday 3 December at 5:30 p.m. at the TMC Secretariat and office premises at Excel World, Colombo 10. Formed 11 years ago, TMC is now an active and vibrant entity of four clubs – the principal clubs covering the membership of Colombo and the Mt. Lavinia vicinities and two associate clubs at Kalutara and Negombo whilst Kalutara has a co-club at Moratuwa. Headed by President Board of Management Deepal Abeysekera, the Board of Management (BOM) plays a pivotal role in the affairs of the various Clubs that constitute TMC. The business affairs of TMC are arranged, administered and managed by the Board of Management. It is the Board of Management that guides the individual clubs to conduct their matters and Chairmen of each of its clubs report to the BOM. Members of the BOM are assigned to cover key areas such as constitutional affairs, sponsorships, administration, treasury, media, club operations, management programs and special events, fund raising, membership and membership benefits as well as the website and membership directory. Members are also individually assigned also cover public relations, club extensions, reciprocal arrangements and liaison with the Chartered Management Institute-UK, Sri Lanka Branch, Patron of TMC. The Board may from time to time prescribe rules and regulations for carrying out or giving effect to or for the better implementation of the objects of the Articles of Association and By-Laws of the Club. TMC works to improve and enhance managerial practices by providing continuous opportunities for managers to participate in seminars, workshops, management training and educational programs covering a wide spectrum of commercial and industrial areas. Networking is one of strengths of The Management Club and its members are privileged to have the opportunity of networking profitably amongst counterparts in all fields. Enable the Disabled, commencing initially as the CSR arm of TMC now has its own identity whilst yet remaining a part of TMC. ETD strives to bring relief to those with disabilities through a running series of programs and events that draw the disabled to participate and benefit to the utmost of their abilities in spite of whatever disability they have to contend with. The AGMs of TMC’s Clubs will be held shortly.
