The Annual General Meeting of TMC Mt Lavina was held recently at The Grand Monarch followed by fellowship. Ashoke Baddage was appointed as the Chairman for the year 2014 and whilst addressing the membership he mentioned that the new committee will be rolling out some interesting plans for the membership this year. Baddage pointed out that in contrast to the last year the new committee is highly committed to drive many initiatives for the membership enabling them to network, interact and get the knowledge in diversified topics. He mentioned that this will give an opportunity to young managers to build their professional networks and an opportunity to develop their careers.
Further he said that apart from developing management skills it is also important for the Management Club to educate the membership on some common topics that will help them in their careers. Baddage further added that in today’s context a manager should not be restricted to his own domain but should have knowledge in other domains as well in order to be successful in their career.
He added that to start the New Year the committee has planned a session to educate membership, a seminar and a discussion on ‘The Colombo Stock Exchange and what is in it for you’ which will be held on Friday 24 January at 6 p.m. at the Grand Monarch, Thalawathugoda. He said the session will focus on educating the membership on the tips to become a prudent investor in stock market and the eminent speakers and panellist will answer the questions from the audience to make it interactive.
Baddage wished the membership a prosperous new year and requested them to participate in forthcoming events and use the opportunity to meet and greet the fellow members and help the committee to take the Management Club to the next level.
