The Management Club Negombo held its AGM on 24 July at 7 p.m. at the Camelot Beach Hotel Negombo in the presence of 25 members.
The outgoing Chairman addressed the membership thanking the outgoing Executive Committee and membership for the support extended to him and also conveyed his regrets for his inability to perform to the expectations of the membership as he was overseas most of the time. He wished the new committee all good wishes for a great year – 2015/16.
Accounts for the preceding year were tabled and since there were no clarifications, the accounts were adopted unanimously.
The outgoing Chairman invited pro tem Chairman Mahasen Wijerathna who then nominated Dammika Fernando for the post of Chairman for the ensuring year. He then proposed the name of Mahasen Wijerathna as the Vice Chairman and Gehan Amarasinghe as the honorary Secretary. Thereafter Amarasinghe read out the names of the Treasurer and members of the Executive Committee.
The new Chairman Dammika Fernando introduced himself to the membership and went on to thank the membership for the confidence placed in his leadership and stated that he seeks the cooperation of the membership to take TMC Negombo to the next level.
The Chief Guest, President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem addressed the membership by providing some insights into TMC’s vision, mission and history and posed a few challenges to the new Executive Committee of not only doubling its membership but to extend TMC Wattala in the coming year .
The following members were elected to serve in the Executive Committee of the Management Club of Negombo.
