The Immediate Past President of the Management Club – Kalutara, Sunil Dharmaratna was recently conferred the Keerthi Sri Deshashakthi Desabandu Viyapara Vibushana National Honour by Dr. R.A. Ranatunga, at the annual awards ceremony of the National Unity Association which was held on 24 October in Colombo. Also present at the occasion was Prof. Nihal Wanigasuriya.
Sunil Dharmaratne is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (UK). He is also a Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka. He has a long association with the Lions Clubs International and served as District Governor as well as Council Chairperson of the Multiple District 306 Lions Clubs International – Sri Lanka.
He counts over 40 years of experience and expertise in the financial, plantation, real estate and leisure sector, having held key management positions as Chief Accountant at Aitken Spence Hotel Management, Director (Finance), Hotel Management Division at John Keells Holdings Ltd. and Senior Vice President and Head of Finance at John Keells PLC.
Presently he serves as Director – Leisure/Projects of Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC, which is one of the largest producers of high quality Uva Teas in Sri Lanka.
Sunil is a Founder Member of TMC – Kalutara and has been instrumental in taking the club to greater heights.
