With a view to helping financial organisations, the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) has formulated Executive Management Development Programs (MDP) that provide a rich learning experience to develop  executive level talent needed for the long-run. With sessions on people and leadership skills, communication and presentation skills, as well as team dynamics and customer expectations management, participants are able to put lessons learned into practice to benefit their careers and organisations. Organisations need managers. In fact, they need great managers. Making a difference as a manager today and tomorrow requires integrated tried-and-tested management skills with innovative approaches that emphasise the human touch, enhanced flexibility, and engaged employees. Successful organisations don’t just happen – they are managed to be that way.  Managers in every organisation have the opportunity to make a difference. To be successful, every organisation needs skilled managers. It is fitting, therefore, to have ‘Being a Manager’, as the curtain raiser of the MDP designed for the People’s Leasing and Finance PLC. Focusing on these objectives, and more specifically to enhance and improve the soft skills of managerial personnel, the People’s Leasing and Finance PLC liaised with the PIM, the pioneer and the nation’s  school of business.  The program contains 10 modules. Another key component included in the program is Leadership. An MDP prepares leaders to become better leaders by equipping them with evolving concepts of leadership. In fact, an MDP provides ideas that enable one to spend less time ‘putting out fires’ and more time for providing “forward-thinking” leadership. An MDP also helps administrators to lead in ways that support larger institutional objectives, enabling them to incorporate broader strategic considerations into management decisions.
