Sri Lanka’s biggest retail fashion chain Nolimit recently announced, that its Ratnapura showroom has won the Taiki Akimoto 5S competition for 2013 under the Trade and Service Sector (Medium Category) at the annual 5S competition organised by the Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) and is now the only retail fashion showroom in Sri Lanka, to be awarded for high standards of 5S Practices.
The Judging panel was led by Prof. Seiichi Fujita from the Waseda University Japan.
Competing in the Trade and Service Sector (Medium Category) Nolimit’s Ratnapura showroom fought off tough competition among many other large corporates that competed for the best 5S and KAIZEN practicing workplace whilst Nolimit’s Maharagama and Kegalle showrooms, which also took part in the competition, were rewarded with merit awards honouring their achievement.
Speaking about this achievement, Nolimit Training and Development Manager Roshal Kotigala said: “As one of the largest retail chains in Sri Lanka, we are committed to deliver the best service and maintain high standard relationships with all our stakeholders, thereby contributing and uplifting the economy of the country at large.
“Winning such a prestigious competition is a huge honour for us and this has motivated us to continue our plans to develop and sustain a 5S culture in all our showrooms. Through this exercise we expect to raise the bar of productivity and efficiency in order to delight the customer with an unparalleled shopping experience at Nolimit.”
