The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) recently launched its newest program, an MBA in Customs and International Trade (MBA-CIT).
This is in response to the request made by Sri Lankan Customs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of its managerial echelon.
PIM Director Prof. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri in his inaugural address said that it was the PIM’s duty and responsibility to develop public sector officials, especially those involved in revenue generation.
Secretary to the Treasury and Ministry of Finance and Planning, Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, stressed in his address to the gathering the relevance of the MBA-CIT program in fulfilling the national aspiration of enhancing the country’s overall management standards.
Customs Director General Chulananda Perera emphasised the impact the new program would have on the overall efficiency of the organisation.
Dr. Travis Perera, Senior Consultant and Member of the Board of Management, PIM, provided a presentation on the contents and conduct of the MBA-CIT program. The faculty and the senior administrative staff of PIM attended the ceremony. Management Consultant Jayantha Newunhella delivered the vote of thanks.
