The National Chamber will conduct a seminar on ‘Benchmarking’ on Monday 15 February from 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at its auditorium at 450 D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha Colombo 10.
Organisers said benchmarking is a productivity tool to achieve excellence in performance, measuring an organisation’s internal processes by identifying, understanding and adapting outstanding practices from other organisations considered to be best-in-class. Benchmarking enables organisations to outperform competitors, open minds to new ideas and place the organisation in a continuous improvement mode. Benchmarking identifies best practices in key business processes and determines what constitutes superior performance in achieving excellence.
This introductory evening seminar will enlighten participants in the subject and provide guidance for companies to commence a Benchmarking program. Successful case studies include many companies that have turned around through the implementation of benchmarking. The seminar will cover topics such as the Explanation of the concept of Benchmarking; Object based benchmarking; Performance Benchmarking, Product Benchmarking, Process Benchmarking and Strategy Benchmarking; Partner based Benchmarking; Internal Benchmarking, Industry Benchmarking, Competitive Benchmarking, Best-in-class Benchmarking; Step by step approach in Benchmarking and case studies.
It will be facilitated by Sunil G. Wijesinha, a well-known trainer and consultant on productivity, quality and Japanese Management techniques. Wijesinha has held many CEO positions, in marketing, consultancy, bank and fund management and has conducted many training programs. He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Management Accountant and holds an MBA.
