Enable the Disabled (ETD), the CSR arm of The Management Club partnered with Janasarana, Sri Lanka’s largest poverty-fighting organisation, to organise a fun filled Christmas party for children. The event was an inclusive party where kids with special needs had an opportunity to freely enjoy with other kids that were invited from leading schools in Colombo.

Over 60 kids from six special needs homes namely from the Preethipura Home, Blind School, School for the Deaf, Chitra Lane School for Special Education, Moratuwa home for Girls participated together with equal number of children coming from Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya (HFC), Ladies College and Colombo International School. The event was held on 3 December at Excel World, who also came in as a contributor for this worthy event. Deepa Edirisinghe and her team from Janasarana actively participated in the event.

The evening was filled with games where the special children participated with the assistance of the friend from the schools, with who they were paired off at the beginning of the party. Yummy food was served which all the children enjoyed. Arrival of Santa Claus was a high point at the party where the kids got all excited for his generous distribution of sweets and gifts. The HFC choir performed Christmas Carols and they were followed by the kids from the Blind school, who also sang on stage. Throughout the party the special kids got ample opportunity to showcase their talents in colouring, singing and dancing. The party ended on high spirits when all kids alike enjoyed a good dancing session.

It was truly a heart-warming event for those who participated.

Lets remember this world is just as much theirs
