TMC organises timely webinar on ‘How to Mitigate Cyber Security Risk Under the New Normal’

With the COVID-19 outbreak, we are going through hard times, status quos and comfort zones are being challenged with ever changing ‘new norms’, and work patterns are shifting from physical to cyber, giving rise to an outbreak in cyber-crimes.

In this backdrop ‘The Management Club of Colombo’ has decided to conduct a webinar session with the theme ‘How to Mitigate Cyber Security Risk Under the New Normal’ in an attempt to alert the corporate and business leaders of the impending cyber security risks and mitigation strategies.

It is significant to restart Sri Lanka by protecting local organisations from cyber-crimes during this new normal situation as it has increased the number of employees working from home, online ordering of items, etc. resulting in an increase in the number of remotely generated transactions that are susceptible to hacking. Protecting the businesses, customers and employees from these risks is becoming a growing priority and a need of the hour.

Moreover, the webinar will focus on how to mitigate the outbreak of the cyber security risks during the COVID-19 outbreak and Cyber Insurance as a key risk mitigation strategy. The webinar will feature keynote speaker CICRA Holdings Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne, presenter Strategic Insurance Brokers Ltd. Chief Marketing Officer Abhyudaya Das, and moderated by Mantai Salt Ltd. Board member Priyantha Hapuarachchi, under the Ministry of Industries.

The Management Club Colombo Chairman and Sadaharitha Plantation CEO/Executive Director Dr. Pradeep Edward, together with his team, also with years of experience in various capacities, have organised the webinar session titled ‘How to Mitigate Cyber Security Risk Under the New Normal’ on 22 December, starting 5:30 p.m. with the objective of creating an awareness of the risks involved and mitigation mechanisms.
