In view of the raging pandemic, and in the wake of increasing infections of COVID-19 across the country, resulting in deaths, the country as a whole has been under periodic lockdown during the past one month. Travel restrictions within and out of provinces, required the TMC main premises at the Galadari Hotel to be closed since 13 May. Although it appears that there might be a resumption of restricted normalcy from 28 June in order to contain the pandemic, at the time of writing, there has not been any formal communiqué pertaining to the restrictions from that date. The premises may operate for official purposes from 28 June, without the participation of members.
All in-house activities, such as programs and events, will continue to be limited to operate virtually on Zoom. Meanwhile the hotel too will continue to take cognisance of the health guidelines that are in force from time to time, therefore food and beverages will likely be restricted to in-house guests.
Regrettably the host hotels of TMC Mount Lavinia, Berjaya, Negombo Camelot Beach, Kalutara Hibiscus, Negombo Camelot Beach, and Wattala Pegasus are all hosting those on quarantine and with limited resources.
As a professional organisation TMC will continue to strictly abide by the health guidelines laid down, so that together we can overcome the challenges of the pandemic.
