In spite of the rain and traffic, identified and prospective members from the Wattala, Ragama, Ja-Ela and Kelaniya areas together with some senior members from TMC Colombo, Negombo were treated to an eventful and indeed enjoyable evening on Friday, 20 September at the Pegasus Reef Hotel.

Incidentally Pegasus Reef Hotel is the Host Hotel for TMC Wattala with whom TMC Board of Management signed an MOU to provide the uniform discounts and other benefits not only to the members of TMC Wattala but also to the entire TMC membership holding a valid membership card.

The early evening event commenced at 7:30 with a formal welcome address by a very senior member of TMC Dayan Fernando, who also briefly spoke of the vision of TMC and his personal involvement from the inception with his usual eloquence. He also recognised the event sponsor Mankind International Ltd. and others who contributed towards the success of the evening.

President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem followed by expressing his welcome and thanks to all those present, particularly those who were formally invited from the vicinity of Wattala. He also elaborated on a power point presentation, an introduction, history and progress of TMC from its inception. He also spoke passionately of the tangible and intangible benefits of membership.

During his presentation he made reference to TMC as a Sri Lankan born, home grown association of almost 18 years and the need to ensure it is sustained and grown in the years to come.

Referring to the presentation, he further elaborated on the different programs and events that are consistently carried out and how they would enhance the interactive, interpersonal and networking skills of all professional managers. He also explained the existing structure of the Board of Management and the different clubs that exist in Colombo, Mount Lavinia, Negombo, Kalutara and the expectations of TMC Wattala.

An interesting Q & A session followed where Dayan Fernando requested the participants to field whatever questions, concerns and comments they wished to make. The concluding remarks and a vote of thanks was made by the Immediate Past President of the Board Of Management Nasser Majeed Nasser who once again thanked all participants, the event sponsors, Mankind International Ltd., and all TMC’s Partner Sponsors.

At the conclusion of the formal part of the evening the senior members of TMC interacted with many of the prospective members of TMC Wattala over drinks and food that was served. A two-piece band provided an excellent array of music that had the participants enjoy the rest of the evening that came to an end at 11 p.m.
