Dealing with the unforeseen challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant toll on people all across the world. It has not only affected day-to-day life but is also slowing down the global economy. The lockdown situations and travel restrictions that needed to be imposed to curb the spread of the pandemic added to the negative impacts of the pandemic on smooth operations of businesses, and many other setups. However, we at TMC Colombo have continued to have our Sub Committee meetings with a positive attitude to come back strong.
Given this background, TMC being a forum dedicated to uplift management practices in Sri Lanka is determined to steer ahead through turbulent times, despite numerous challenges faced. Although the usual physical meetings, trainings and knowledge sharing sessions could not be held due to the current situation, the TMC continued with its mission of elevating management practices to the next level, through numerous insightful sessions conducted virtually varying from management skills, digital marketing to vaccination, which is the need of the hour.
Further, TMC is looking forward to conduct more webinars on timely topics to guide businesses and management practices to face the crisis with a spirit of reinvention, accelerating digital transformation and implementing agile operations. The global pandemic has forever changed our experiences as customers, employees and human beings and our behaviours and attitudes are changing as a result. Once the immediate threat of the virus has passed, companies will have to focus on the new behaviour patterns and attitudes in the way we design, communicate, build and run the business operations.
TMC is very much focused on its mission in this context and will continue to deliver on the expectations of its members, thereby paving the way for better and more effective management practices despite the upcoming challenges of an unprecedented nature.
We at TMC request all our members to stay safe in these challenging times. As the Executive Committee, we will do our best to ensure to start operation at the earliest possible time in order to add value to our members and the management fraternity of Sri Lanka.
