On its 19th year of existence, TMC introduced a unique and indeed exclusive membership, the ‘Platinum’, at an informal gathering of the Board of Management on 27 January at the Galadari Hotel.

The 16 Platinum members were presented with a welcome letter, lapel pin, car sticker and new membership card by The Management Club President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem.

TMC Board of Management President Deepal Abeysekera addressed the small gathering with a brief welcome speech and congratulated the recipients for their elevation to Platinum member status.

The President Emeritus in his brief address, spoke of the idea of Platinum membership which was conceived a few years ago, and the negotiations he had with the hotel for enhanced benefits to the Platinum members. He also acknowledged with thanks to the immediate Past President Murali Prakash for having pursued the procedure of introducing this grade of membership and his efforts of enhancing and refurbishing the Board Room, creating a meeting room and the lounge.

The Platinum members are entitled to a 10-year membership with numerous additional and exclusive benefits, a few of which are 30% discounts on food and beverage, laundry, 50% discount at the gym, and limited free use of the boardroom and meeting room.
