By popular demand after a very successful and a well-attended workshop last year on Social and Business Etiquette. The Management Club Mount Lavinia, in its continuing effort in striving for professionalism in managers in Sri Lanka decided to stage the workshop on Social and Business Etiquette again this year, and it has been scheduled for 30 April.
TMC has over the years identified many areas of Professional Managerial development, whether it be in advanced Management Skills development or in basic soft skills Development, and indeed one area that tends to be overlooked is the area of "General Presentation" skills which incorporates, among many skills, dress sense, poise, demeanour, use and manner of cutlery at dinners etc.
The Management Club in its effort to drive professionalism throughout managers in Sri Lanka is rolling out this workshop on Social and Business Etiquette in partnership with Ebenezer Double Edged Solutions Ltd. This workshop can help every manager polish up their professional outlook and will especially help people entering the business world to understand the do and do not’s in professional business conduct right from the start.
Social and Business Etiquette is a collection of unwritten rules that apply to socialising and professional business conduct. In the professional world of business, good business etiquette means that you conduct yourself professionally and exercise proper manners when engaging with others in your profession. It creates a professional, mutually respectful atmosphere and improves communication, which helps individuals to fit in comfortably to high society settings and gives confidence that translates into better customer relationships as well. Good business etiquette is a valuable skill-set that will make you a true professional, enhance your chances at success and help you to fit in to any social gathering. It is important to note that if you lack good business, social and dress etiquette you may actually not realise it, but others around you will.
Be it a three, five or seven course meal at a dining table each piece of cutlery is specifically laid to be used for a specific course. Table manners can often set you back even without you knowing it. Dressing appropriately for different occasions, being stylish vs. letting your choice of clothes or even the way you match colours matters. Your class is not about how expensive your wardrobe is, rather more about how well you understand style and dress etiquette and select clothes that complement the occasion, which sets you apart.
The program will cover the following areas:
The program arranged will be relevant for senior managers and business heads and all those who engaged with customers and business partners in the corporate world of Sri Lanka.
The workshop will be conducted by Certified Image Consultant Chandi Aluwihare Delwala and AICI-CPA. Delwala who is a consultant-trainer at Ebenezer Double Edged Solutions Ltd.
