Dr. Dileepa de Silva – a TMC Member of Colombo was recognised by the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) for the contribution made by him for the development of ICT in Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) during his tenure from 2014-2017 as the Chairman of APICTA
Dr. de Silva has been in the ICT field for the last 38 years and a prominent member of the ICT Fraternity in Sri Lanka. He is a Fellow Member of CMI, Fellow of BCS, CITP, and MCSSL.
Dr. Dileepa de Silva was the Chairman of APICTA from 2014 to 2017. He is CMI Fellow Member. Asia Pacific ICT Alliance, is an alliance of national ICT organisations representing their respective economy to build and enhance a mutually cooperative network to promote ICT, enhance technology innovations, capability and adoption, and encourage the development of indigenous ICT solutions for the global market.
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) have had a significant impact in the way we communicate, work, live and play. It is key to entrepreneurial and economic growth as well as wealth creation in our knowledge-based economies. With the recognition of ICT as a fast growing, pervasive and ubiquitous activity and industry to support the economy’s growth agenda, APICTA epitomises the mutual collaboration of economies coming together and working to further recognise this important phenomenon.
