  • Valuable webinars through partnerships

Although the months of November and December were challenging in the present context for TMC Colombo, the new Ex-Co headed by Pradeep Edward injected further impetus by reaching out to two exceptionally recognised organisations to tie up on a grand scale for webinars, in addition to continuing with monthly and project meetings on zoom.

‘Approach Towards 2021’, webinar in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, covering the ‘New Norm’ and its positive effects on employers and employees was comprehensively covered by a panel of well-experienced professionals, moderated by Marketing Consultant, Trainer/Lecturer G.S. Sylvester. The panel consisted of SLIM President and Derana Power House General Manager Roshan Fernando, SLIM Vice President and Microsoft Sri Lanka CMO Lead, South East Asia New markets Thilanka Abeywardene, Leyden Group Managing Director Jude Joseph, and TMC Founder/President Emeritius and Mankind International Chairman Fayaz Saleem.

The other webinar ‘Leading in Pandemic Times – From Resilience to Results’ was on invitation from the Chartered Management Institute (UK) for the participation of TMC members to find their way to overcome these trying times through spirit and strength. The Resource Person was International Speaker, Corporate Trainer, Strategy Consultant and Author Professor Ajantha Dharmasiri. He is also the Chairman of the Post Graduate Institute of Management and Adjunct Professor of Price College of Business, University of Oklahoma.

Moderator for this was KPMG Partner, Management Consulting Kamaya Perera.

Feedback from both well-participated webinars has encouraged Colombo TMC to have further such programs on current affairs in the way forward which was discussed at a physical meeting held on 7 December, at Galadari, the Host Hotel of Colombo TMC. Several other events are also on the calendar. The next webinar is being planned and will be an important subject in the current context. Watch out for this space for more information.
