The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) yesterday summoned former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s second son Lt. Yoshitha Rajapaksa to record a statement in connection with the light aircraft that was found at the Economic Centre in Narahenpita in January. His brother United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa also accompanied him. Addressing the media after coming out from the CCD, Namal Rajapaksa said that they were ready to prove their innocence. “There are different allegations circulating about us. Even during the previous regime there were allegations about us. But we are ready to prove our innocence,” he said.   Answering a question raised by the media about his father re-entering politics and contesting in the forthcoming election, Rajapaksa said that it was a question only his father could answer and that there was no point in asking the son about it. However, commenting about the private television network CSN, Rajapaksa claimed that they were only viewers of the CSN channel and that the decision concerning termination of this TV channel should be taken by its directors. Meanwhile UPFA MPs Rohitha Abeygunawardena and Lakshman Wasantha Perera were also questioned by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption yesterday over allegations received against them. According to media reports, MP Namal Rajapaksa was also summoned yesterday to the Bribery Commission to record a statement while the latter had requested a different date to appear before the commission.
