The Bay Leaf offers Sicilian specials

The Bay Leaf –Colombo’s finest Italian restaurant – set in a Grand colonial mansion, offers a special Sicilian menu for all o enjoy as its monthly promotion in Augusts presented by Chef Saroj. He has interpreted traditional Italian cuisine with creativity and has delighted many, to enjoy a lovely meal in a wonderful atmosphere.



Sicily has a complex history and all these influences are quite evident, in its food more than in any other area. Sicilian cuisine shows traces of all the cultures which established themselves on the island of Sicily and although  predominantly based on Italian cuisine, Sicilian food also has Spanish, Greek and Arab influences, with  some North African influences clearly shown  in the use of couscous.

Much of the island’s cuisine encourages the use of fresh vegetables such as eggplant, peppers, tomatoes and fish.

The Sicilian promotion at Bay Leaf offers Spaghetti ai Capperi stromboliani Pasta tossed with capers, green olives, anchovies, garlic, hot chillies, tomato and white wine Tagliolini con Gamberetti alla Sicilian home made fresh pasta with tail-prawns, garlic, chilli, hot jalapeno peppers, fresh tomato and basil, Involini Arrostiti-Rolled veal, stuffed with egg plant, jalapeno peppers, fresh mozzarella and tomato, served with red wine pepper sauce and Cus Cus con Carne di Maiale e Cavoltior-Marinated grilled pork chop served with cous cous and gratin cauliflower. Bay Leaf compliments these main dishes with an excellent selection of beverages, wines and cocktails.
