The familiar nip in the air, the excitement in the eyes of children and adults alike, as well as delectable fragrances wafting out of kitchens can only mean one thing: Christmas! Celebrating the birth of the Christ, December is synonymous with the three important values in life: love, family, and faith.

This year, Jetwing Hotels celebrates this unique holiday with a ‘ho, ho, ho’ indeed, bringing back by popular demand the 12 Days of Christmas! A one-of-a-kind take on the traditional song, the 12 days from the 21st of December onwards will be a time of festivity and charity, with great goodies and a focus on the less fortunate. Negombo is a veritable North Pole, being the birthplace of Jetwing. Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions takes a health conscious twist to the festivities, with an authentic cookie evening as well as a delicious ayurvedic dinner on 21 and 23 December respectively; Jetwing Blue as an early treat declared their Gingerbread House open on the 15 of December!

Christmas Eve is not to be missed; with Jetwing Blue and Jetwing Beach each hosting an epic seven course sit-down dinner, along with live music.  Jetwing Sea opens up the 12 Days with a Beach Bonfire, followed by a sumptuous seafood dinner, and a stirring performance by the Choir of the Blind School on the 22 December.

Jetwing Vil Uyana has a programme to shame the kitchens of King Kashyappa: with a lunch on Christmas Day that boasts roast turkey, with traditional stuffing and gravy, and a classic eight course set dinner at the Apsara restaurant.Jetwing St. Andrew’s, Nuwara Eliya, begins the 12 Days with the decoration of the Christmas tree by the help of the children of Paynter’s Home and celebrates Christmas and the New Year with a gala dinner buffet and fireworks.

In Galle, Jetwing Lighthouse hosts a Family Christmas Party, where guests are encouraged to donate gifts for children of a local orphanage on 21 December, and heralds the dawn of 2012 in style, with a seven course candlelit dinner at the exclusive Cinnamon Room, and a very special New Year Lunch Buffet created by Executive Chef Nihal Senanayake. Tangalla Bay by Jetwing does things differently this year: with a barbecue dinner on the terrace with a sundown party at poolside for Christmas Day, and a grand New Year’s Eve Bash with fireworks, DJ and buffet dinner.   “Christmas has always been a time for family and friends and an opportunity for charity.

We had an amazing response for last year’s 12 Days of Christmas, with guests ecstatic about the prospect of helping the less fortunate while enjoying the season. This year, the 12 Days of Christmas is back, and grander than ever before,” said Angie Samuel, Marketing Communications Manager of Jetwing Hotels.
