The launch was unique given that the Miss China finalists vying for the Miss Universe title handed over to the initial recipients of 20 deserving children together with the past Governors of Rotary present. The initiative was unique give that those a who would not have access to the sophisticated equipment worth between Rs. 60,000-110,000 each now had the opportunity of owning one which was manufactured in Germany. One thousand such hearing aids will be donated by Rotary across the country, she said. “Today’s event is unique given that it is a ‘Private-Public-People’ partnership. The base hospital in a respective geographic area will verify with an audiogram of the potential recipient and then Rotary engages the recipient for the award. The function sponsored by a top corporate like Ewise is the typical PPP model that we use in many of our projects,” commented the Governor Rajan. Pic by Upul Abayasekara
