Prima Kottumee is a brand that represents the vibrancy and the energy of youth. For the third consecutive year, Prima Kottumee took another step towards highlighting their efforts that focus on the youth of the nation by producing a unique calendar for the coming year 2012.
The Prima Kottumee Calendar was launched on 14 December 2011 with a stunning fashion show at the Stable, Park Street Mews in a blitz of fanfare.
Youth have innate dreams and desires to walk the ramps of fashion shows and showcase their talents and Prima Kottumee provides them with such a platform to follow their dreams of delving into show business and modelling.
More importantly, the 2012 calendar has become the appropriate canvas to showcase our beautiful country and its beautiful people. Renowned photographer Lakshmanan Nadaraja photographed the models using Bentota beach, Bandaragama Uyanwatte Lake and Beira Lake as the scenic backdrop for the calendar.
This year, an extensive ‘Model Hunt’ was conducted through television, radio, newspapers, and web via e-mail and Facebook, to choose 24 stunning female and male models.
This search resulted in receiving a huge response from the youth and it is imperative to mention that a majority of these applications were received via digital mediums.
Through a stringent screening process 250 potential candidates were shortlisted. Subsequently 24 candidates with the most potential were selected to be featured in the 2012 calendar by former Miss World for Miss Universe 2005, contestant Rozanne Diasz. The selected models were trained by Diasz for their first fashion show, which was held on the day of the calendar launch.
Prima Kottumee, which identifies with the youth and their aspirations, awarded the 24 selected models with a modelling scholarship at Zaid images, the modelling academy of Rozanne Diasz. Some of the models who participated in the fashion show last year have today become popular models in Sri Lanka.
This attractive ‘Hot & Spicy’ calendar, which sums up the vitality and vigour of today’s youth will be available to the general public in a few days.
