Paella Night and DJ Chef Blas at Cinnamon Lakeside

Located at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo and overlooking the scenic Beira Lake, 7° North is renowned for serving the very best Mediterranean tapas and cuisine in Colombo, and now the restaurant and bar will be paying a special tribute to a Spanish classic with the launch of ‘Paella Night’ every Friday.

Paella is a traditional Spanish dish of rice and seafood, slow cooked with saffron in a large cast-iron pan. The yellow hues of the saffron-infused rice contrast with the colours of the delicious seafood and vegetables to create a colourful dish that is perfect for sharing on a night out. An expert on paella, master chef Blas Sorreno explains that while the famous seafood version of paella hails from his coastal city in Catalonia, Spain, there are several version of paella, and he will be introducing some of these at 7° North. “Every region in Spain has its own version of paella, each one with its own distinct flavour. It’s a humble dish which is all about highlighting the taste of fresh seasonal produce. We will be serving a variety of paellas here like the seafood paella, mixed meat paella and the seafood noodle paella,” he added. At 11.00 p.m. the lively ambience which radiates across the deck will be amplified as Chef Blas dons a pair of headphones and turns into the resident DJ for the evening. A DJ since his teens, Blas will be spinning a mix of electric and lounge remixes. Enjoy the evening at one of Colombo’s trendiest bars as the comfortable seating and soft lighting on the deck invites you to unwind with friends while the ambience inside is upbeat as neon lights, a projector screening the latest fashions and the aroma of tropical scents that drift over the bar counter awaken your senses.
