New Year’s Eve Silver Ball at the Hilton Colombo

Celebrating 25 years of being a trendsetter in the Sri Lankan hospitality industry, Hilton Colombo brings back the hotel’s much anticipated New Year’s Eve gala dinner dance. This year’s celebrations will have a special significance as Hilton Colombo marks their silver jubilee.

Back after four years, the New Year’s Eve Party hosted by Hilton is set to be one of Colombo’s most elaborate New Year’s Eve bashes with the monumental celebration featuring live performances by some of the best bands in town and other special offers.

Commenting on the Silver Ball, Rudolf Troestler, General Manager stated, “Our goal is to create innovative events that will awe our guests. We take great pride in consistently offering an exceptional experience to our guests. As such with everything that we have planned this year, our guests will truly enjoy their New Year’s Eve in a special way at the Silver Ball. 2013 is sure to be an extraordinary year and we look forward to the dawning of the New Year with each and every one of our guests.’’

The evening is said to be stellar with Geoffrey Fernando and Purple Rain headlining the event, taking the stage for the second time this year with Black Velvet also be looking at serenading everyone attending the evening.

Guests will have the opportunity to win 25 air tickets to exotic destinations as a special anniversary offer. The evening is set to start at 9.00 p.m., with tickets priced at Rs. 20,000 inclusive of a delectable international gala dinner buffet offering a range of exotic cuisines along with an authentic Sri Lankan breakfast.  

Executive Chef Rohan Fernandopulle said, “We will have individual food stations ranging from charcuterie, cheese, seafood ice bar, Japanese, vegetarian, meat and poultry, pasta house, carvery and more. This year since it’s our 25th anniversary and also since we are having this gala dinner dance after a lapse of four years, we are geared to give our diners an unforgettable world class dining experience.”

Roasted pumpkin tortellini with white truffle, lobster and mushroom ravioli in lobster sauce, marinated octopus and cuttlefish, Maryland king crab, caviar vintage, over 20 varieties of cheeses, roasted stuffed quails with morel sauce, from the sushi bar assorted sushi, assorted tempura, okonomiyaki along with some exotic desserts are to be savoured.

The Silver Ball will be hosted at the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom on December 31st. Guests can ring in the New Year with a truly unique sequence of events with the host of the evening, Adam Adamaly at this year’s spectacular New Year’s event.
