The Hindi musical program coordinated by Sam Samarasinghe who is the chief organiser of the Barath Lanka Kala Padanama was held at the Mathura Vegetarian restaurant during the month of November on every Wednesday and Thursday and was a tremendous success.
Songs sung by legendry Hindi singers such as Mohamed Rafi, Latha Mageshkar, Mukesh OP Naiyar, Asha Boseley, Kishore Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Vyjanthi Mala and Madu Bala were sung and each night was dedicated to each singer. It was amazing and the atmosphere of the Mathua restaurant was like a musical evening since most of the guests who patronised too were singing along with the band. The guests whilst enjoying the evening also enjoyed the authentic Indian vegetarian food prepared by the Indian chefs and requested to have this event regularly
Visharada Sanath Nandasiri who was appointed as the Chancellor of University of the Visual and Performing Arts, Malkanthi Nandasiri, Ravindar Randeniya, Sangeeth Weeraratne, Boodi Keerthisena, Anusha Damayanthi and Sachini Ayendra were guests who patronised Mathura during this period.
