If someone was to tell you that you have to travel 10 to 11 hours to taste the best ice cream in Sri Lanka, don’t scoff at them. They are absolutely right.
The best sugar fix in the island is nestled in the dusty corners of the peninsula, and comes at ridiculously cheap prices. Contesting alongside the famous Rio Ice Cream, which has now successfully branched out and has a stall in Negombo and a truck on Marine Drive, is Lingan Cream House, almost always ignored even though it is the first shop you pass after exiting the Nallur Kovil.
