From the important dates and laban, presented on the menu are hummus bil taheena (chickpea with sesame puree dip), khyar bi laban (cucumber with yoghurt and dry mint), baba ghanoush (grilled eggplant with cubed vegetable salad), fattoush (Arabic toasted salad) and tabbouleh (bulgur, tomato, parsley, mint, onion, lemon juice and olive oil under cold mezze and shorbet ads (lentil soup) and chicken kanji.
Under main dishes are kabsa (Arabic mixed rice with spices, vegetables and meat and samak harra (grilled moda with spicy tomato sauce). A grilled lamb shawarma action station will also be in place along with a carvery section with dajaj mashwi (Arabian grilled chicken) and a roti station. A dessert spread featuring om ali, basbousa, pistachio baklava and the traditional watalappan will also be set up for diners.
The Iftar dinner buffet at Taprobane continues throughout the month of Ramazan from 29 June to 29 July from 6:25 p.m. onwards at Rs. 1,750. A special room service menu for ‘snacks’ with a range of fresh fruit juices, selection of lassi, conjee, cold and hot mezze, soups and a ‘main’ menu with desserts have been arranged for guests. The snack menu is priced at Rs. 1,000, and the main meal at Rs. 1,600.
