Geowash, the popular concept of washing a car with less than two litres of water was launched by the sole franchised agent in Sri Lanka, W.D.R. Samarakoon Group of Companies. GeoWash is a US based company that specialises in marketing ecological mobile car wash services in over 30 countries around the world.
This unique service is popular in developed countries because of its proposition of preserving water for future generations.
Geowash was launched in Sri Lanka by Jayaratna Bandara Samarakoon, Chairman, W.D.R. Samarakoon Group of Companies, at the Arpico Supercentre, Hyde Park Corner along with the Managing Director and Board of Directors of W.D.R., Ranjith Pathirage, Chairman, DIMO, Dharshana Senaratna, General Manager, Porsche – Sri Lanka and many other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Asela Wasala, Director – W.D.R. Group, explained the uniqueness in GeoWash: “In the world, only 1% of water available can be consumed. In Sri Lanka, we use drinking water supplied by the Government to wash cars. That is why Geowash is popular as it is a 100% ecological wash. We do not even spill water on the floor while washing.”
The concept incorporates the intelligent use of wetting agents, lubricants and surfactants to wash cars. These, coupled with the use of the finest quality applicator towels and highly skilled professionals, will ensure the best results with the minimum resources.
The GeoWash system applies, using a low-pressure spray nozzle, a special formula as a fine mist and special formulas that lifts, softens, emulsifies and dissolves dirt and other contaminants on contact, while special polymers wrap around any remaining particles in a lubrication film, a thin layer between the paintwork and the dirt, to protect from scratching.
Then, the liquid is gently removed using ultra microfiber towels. The GeoWash process is completely scratch-free. “It is important to wax a car regularly after cleaning. This is because waxing leaves a coat, which protects the paint from the environment as well as leaving a deep, lustrous finish,” said Wasala in conclusion.
