Avurudu is around the corner. This is a one of a kind celebration held in great reverence in Sri Lanka alone. Hence herald in Avurudu at one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most important surviving colonial buildings in Sri Lanka.
A substantial history covering 200 years and holding a very important place in the heritage of Sri Lanka, Mount Lavinia Hotel would like to welcome you to revel in age old traditions at the hotel this season.
What better way to celebrate Avurudu than indulging yourself with the finest traditional sweetmeats from the Avurudu connoisseur himself; Chef Publis. Convoluted preparations of the Avurudu treats, signifies the very essence of Avurudu in terms of food which will be one of the many attractions at MLH.
With this in mind the MLH team has set up an authentic ‘Publis’ Kevili Kade’, located at the hotel courtyard from 9 to 14 April, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. that will have Sinhala and Tamil New Year treats made by Chef Publis himself.
Treats on offer include kavum, kokis, kalu dodol, galkisse bibikkan, achaharu(Sri Lankan pickles) with seasonal fruit and vegetables from lovi, uguressa, pela mada, kaju puhulan, waraka and much more.
