Bridging the erstwhile gap between the runway, designers and fashion aficionados, www.cfwcurates.com is a retail project launched by Wow.lk and HSBC Colombo Fashion Week to bring the best of fashion straight to consumers. Featuring a carefully curated selection by designers from Sri Lanka and South Asia, customers can choose from collections ranging from work wear to resort wear. The site offers free delivery within Sri Lanka, while international delivery is also undertaken. A collaboration between the torchbearers of Sri Lanka’s e-commerce industry and trailblazers of the fashion sphere, CFWCurates is an endeavour to take the retail fashion industry to upper echelons by providing access to upcoming entrepreneurs, designers and high street brands and cater to the growing demographic of discerning online shoppers. “In line with the plans of CFW to promote and provide a retail platform for fashion designers, CFWCurates is being developed to take Sri Lankan fashion to fashion consumers in Sri Lanka and around the world. We are very excited with this start and we hope to take it to the next level. Our plan is to excite fashion consumers and designers alike,” said Ajai V. Singh, President of Colombo Fashion Week.  “Apart from offering a virtual fashion boutique to discerning fashion lovers, CFWCurates is also a celebration of fashion and is an excellent platform for designers to directly connect with buyers,” said Marc Perera, Head of Sales at Wow.lk. “With internet penetration in Sri Lanka now 15% from the total population and with over 3.2 million potential customers, Wow.lk is committed to bringing the best to its customers by offering new e-commerce angles and solutions. Future plans for CFWCurates include expanding the portfolio of brands and designers and amplifying the existing platform.” “CFWCurates is a very good opportunity for upcoming young designers to get a foot into the fashion industry as they are able to showcase their collections. It enables them to find buyers for their products and they will also get an opportunity to market their own label. CFW Curates helps to expose young designers’ talents and puts Sri Lanka on the global fashion scene,” said leading designer, Yolanda Aluwihare. The site features designers and labels such as Yolanda Aluwihare, Sonali Dharmawardena, Buddhi Batiks, Gihan Ediriweera, Ramona Oshini, Indi, Upeksha, Radhika Mendis, Charini Suriyage, Catherine Rawson, Crocodile, Yasisurie Kiribandara and ‘Conscience’ by Stringhopper – an ethically conscious and environmentally friendly fashion label. The men’s products on offer are shirts and t-shirts by ALX New York, Emerald, Gihan Ediriweera and Arugambay and will be expanding to include swimwear and footwear during the weeks to come.
